Everyone has been very happy checking out the new web page I have been working on. The number one request from everyone is “ahh, baby Kyle is so cute, can we see more photos please?”
So by popular demand here are a couple photos we had taken at Easter, as well as a quick video I made today. Kyle seems to be very interested in the camera, he can’t seem to get his eyes off of it. Maybe he will be a movie star?

Hi everyone. We wanted to let you know that Kyle’s first experience with sweet potatoes yesterday was a success. He absolutely LOVES them. As a matter of fact I couldn’t feed him fast enough. As soon as I would feed him a bite he would say “mmmmmmm” and kick his legs. After he swallowed each bite he would open his mouth and smile so I could see he was ready for another bite. Needless to say I don’t think he is going to be a finicky eater. He seems to really enjoy food. This Thursday we are moving on to bigger and better things….carrots! We will keep you posted on his culinary progress.

Kyle in the Hospital
As most of you know already our son Kyle has been diagnosed with Epilepsy. He had several seizures shortly after we took him home from the hospital. The good news is that they performed every test imaginable and everything checked out normal. We took him home with some anti-seizure medicine and everything was fine.
A few weeks later we slowly took him off the medicine since he hadn’t had a seizure. We were happy that it appeared that he outgrew them.
Two months later he had a seizure that lasted around two minutes and his breathing appeared to stop and it scared us to death. We again took him to the hospital in an ambulance and they again did more testing. Again everything came back normal.
We need to keep Kyle on the anti-seizure medicine for at least two years. After that we can again slowly taper him off the medicine and see if the seizures disappear. The Doctors tell us that we have a fifty percent chance that he might never have a seizure again, but he also might continue to have them.
We both were uneducated about epilepsy, and what it was. Basically it is a seizure disorder. About 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy at any one time. Epilepsy is usually controlled, but not cured, with medication. Not all epilepsy syndromes are lifelong – some forms are confined to particular stages of childhood.
I also thought that it also affected the brain and learning, but this is not true. We are both thankful that everything else checks out normal, and that the seizures were not caused by a more serious problem.
This whole experience has given us a chance to learn what epilepsy is, and how to deal with seizures.
The following movie explains it in detail, and I hope everyone takes a few minutes to watch it.
Thank you

Happy Memorial Day!
Happy Memorial Day from our family!!! We wish you all a safe and Happy Memorial Day. As we enjoy our day off from work, barbecues, family and friends, let’s all try to take a moment today to remember and honor what it is we are in observance of today, the many brave men and women that have served our country and put their lives on the line and some that have given the ultimate sacrifice, their lives.
As for us, today we are going to my grandparents house for a barbecue. We will have tri-tip, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob, and lots more. Today will be Kyles first Memorial Day and he will be celebrating with his first taste of real food….sweet potatoes.
We hope you all have a great day today.

We got some very sad news this week, my Danish Grandmother passed away Friday 5/23/08. She was 95 years old. She was the last surviving Grandparent I had. She lived her whole life in Denmark. I got the pleasure to meet her several times over the course of my life. Although she didn’t speak much English we still managed to communicate with each other. She will always be remembered as my Mormor (Danish for Grandmother).
I only wished that Monica had the chance to meet her, but unfortunately she never did. I was told a few days before she passed she went on a trip to Tivoli Gardens, and enjoyed herself very much. I was happy to hear that. I will miss her.

We are both very happy to finally have Kyle home with us from the hospital. He is doing very well, and hasn’t had any seizures now that he is on his medicine. He also is very happy to be home, he totally knows that he is with his Mom & Dad, and has been very pleasant. He hardly cries at all, unless he is hungry or has a dirty diaper. We just starting giving him some rice cereal and oatmeal, which he also seems to enjoy very much! Next week we start him on some more food, carrots and sweet potatoes.
We had a visit to the Doctor last week and he is growing very fast. He is now the size of a 6 month old, but the Doctor said this is good and he is developing normal. He is surprising us almost every day with something new. He is very alert and reaches for his toys when we hold them in front of him. He really likes his toy keys and rattle. He has the most beautiful blue eyes and he always amazes us with just how cute he is! We of course are a little bias being the parents, but we can’t help it.
We want to thank everybody for their prayers and support. We are just relieved that he is doing well.
